As they usually do for their monthly meetings, the Panorama School Board got to hear about some of the good things going on around the district in their good news segment of the meeting.
Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that thanks to the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) courses that students can take at Panorama, one has a unique opportunity. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about that opportunity.
“We also congratulated one of our students here, Ava Thompson, for being nominated by the DMACC staff to the Iowa Department of Education’s program for the 26 US Presidential Scholars. So she received that nomination in recognition of her academic achievements in health careers.”
Huebner mentions that Thompson takes several courses through DMACC, and that along with her incredible work ethic and effort helped earn her the nomination. He adds that these dual credit courses are a great opportunity for any who wish to take them.
