West Central Valley freshman Drew Teague shares how wrestling has helped him become a more positive individual.

Teague explains that he started wrestling at the age of six in Woodward, where his family resided, then moved to Stuart when he was in second grade. He notes that the sport has given him discipline in life, and describes that he alternates between an offensive and defensive wrestling style. Teague outlines that wrestling has shaped his personality.

“It’s been good because it’s made my moods better, and it’s just made me a better person.”

During the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines, Teague lost his first match to Emmetsburg’s CJ Rodriguez in a fall (1 minute and 52 seconds), then was defeated by Colfax-Mingo’s Cason Fitch in an 18-3 technical fall.
