The filing deadline for the June Primary election passed yesterday.
For Adair County, two Board of Supervisors positions are up for election, along with the offices of County Attorney, Recorder and Treasurer. There is only one race where there are two candidates that will face each other in the primary, District 2 Supervisor, which will be run between Jodie Hoadley and Sara Shepard, while the District 4 Supervisor only has incumbent Nathan Bair running for the seat. The offices of Treasurer, Recorder and Attorney all also only have the incumbent running, with Brenda Wallace, Kelly Mitchell and Melissa Larson filing for their respective positions. Larson is the only Democratic candidate.
For Guthrie County, three Board of Supervisors positions are up for election, along with the offices of County Attorney, Treasurer and Recorder. District 3 Supervisor, Treasurer and Recorder are all uncontested by their respective incumbents, Maggie Armstrong, Brenda Campbell and Tristen Richard. District 1 Supervisor will see Republicans Phil Brown and Nic Chance running for office, while in the District 4 Supervisor race incumbent Steve Smith will defend his seat against fellow republican Tracy Foster. For County Attorney, both current Assistant County Attorney Charles Abel and Joel Baxter are running for election in the Primary.
The last day for candidates to file a withdrawal for their nomination papers is this coming Wednesday. The final day to file a written objection to nomination petitions is March 27th.
