Perry-area veterans will be recognized during a special ceremony today.

The Perry Piecemakers Quilt Guild will honor seven veterans with Quilts of Valor at 2 p.m. at the Perry Elks Lodge, 2823 Willis Ave.

Pat Mundy, with the Perry Piecemakers, says the group will award four quilts to veterans from Perry, one from Minburn, one from Woodward and one from Nevada.

Mundy invites community members to attend today’s Quilts of Valor ceremony at the Perry Elks Lodge.

“It’s always open to the public and that’s how we spread the word so we can continue our mission. People know others who are veterans that we would love to be able to have them nominate and use as our recipients for Quilts of Valor.”

Refreshments will be served during a reception following the awards ceremony.
