Greene County begins the high school outdoors track & field season today just three days after their third and final indoor meet. The Rams were at Storm Lake for the Buena Vista University High School Elite Meet on Saturday and today they go to Simpson College in Indianola for the High School Classic. The coed event is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.

Today’s meet has 14 teams scheduled to compete including Iowa’s largest high school, Valley of West Des Moines. In fact, the meet at Simpson will have 1A size to 4A schools competing against one another.

Chad Morton is the head coach of the boys’ team and Derek Merk is the girls’ head coach. There are approximately 70 girls and boys combined out for track & field at Greene County High School.
