Adel-DeSoto-Minburn junior Ethan Johnson describes the close bond he’s developed with his wrestling teammates.
Johnson shares that he began wrestling in kindergarten, attending a variety of tournaments, and then really committed to the sport around seventh grade. He says that he enjoys the opportunity to hang out with his friends on the squad, especially because they’ve been able to grow super close with each other.
“We’re a family. We’re all going through it together. We all go to practice. It’s just like we’re all brothers to get here, and I love being with all of them.”
Johnson competed in the 150 pound weight category for Class 3A at the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament in February, ending up on the podium with an eighth place finish.
