Work continues to progress on the Guthrie County Hospital renovation and rehabilitation project.

Chief Executive Officer Chris Stipe says that planning for the project is something that was in the works for quite some time. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that earlier renovations were taken into consideration.

“We’ve chosen to add on numerous times, but that many times creates its own issues. And in terms of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems. (And) in terms of, you know, serving the community, we really felt like it was time to kind of hit reset and reinvest in the building.”

Stipe mentions that now that things have gotten going, the project will be ongoing for at least two more years. He adds that they continue to work to provide the best coverage they can, even with parts of the building being worked on.
