The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track and Field Teams hosted the Coed Early Bird Meet in Adel on Thursday, as the girls won first place and the boys notched second.

The Tiger girls tallied a total of 205 points to beat out Gilbert, Madrid, and Earlham. Key performances for ADM included seniors Elise Coghlan (14.91 seconds) and Haley Nelson (15.50) garnering first and second place in the 110 Meter Hurdles. Junior Isabelle Book grabbed first place in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.78 seconds, while freshman Vivian Novelli finished second in the 200 Meter Dash at 27.81 seconds.

Tiger senior Lauren Hagedorn threw 33 feet and 7.50 inches in the shot put and 122 feet in the discus, securing second place in both events. Also, junior Bella Smyth jumped 16 feet even in the long jump for third, and freshman Avelynn Hayes placed third in the high jump with a distance of four feet and six inches.

On the boys side, ADM totaled 175 points for second place as a team behind Gilbert with 199.5. In the open 100 Meter Dash, sophomore Zane Johnson was first at 10.98 seconds, while senior Robbie Hall ran 2:14.52 in the 800 Meter Run, and senior Ty Landphair ran 4:45.04 for second in the 1600 Meter Run.

In the long jump, Tiger senior Jackson Pitzen won with a distance of 19 feet and 10.5 inches, then it was junior Reid Kluesner going five feet and eight inches in the high jump.

The next meet for the ADM Girls will be on Tuesday in Waukee for the Northwest Invitational, as the boys will be in Earlham on Tuesday.
