A Missouri man was recently arrested for an alleged incident that took place in 2023 in Jefferson.
According to court documents, following a traffic stop on September 23, 2023 for an expired registration tag and inoperable license plate lights, the Jefferson Police Officer found out from the driver, then 38-year-old Jerry Webb, that his license was expired and also had no proof of insurance or registration. The criminal complaint states that the officer also found chocolates that were made with a controlled substance psilocyn.
Court documents show that the officer conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle once it was in the impound lot and found what appeared to be a sawed off shotgun, due to the barrels being cut from a regulation length.
An arrest warrant was issued in December of 2023 charging Webb with a Class D Felony for possession of a short-barreled rifle/shotgun and his first offense for possession of a controlled substance. He was recently arrested on Thursday and was booked into the Greene County Jail under a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
