Mustangs girls basketball senior Leah Brauch was named to the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association all-star series team for the Southwest Iowa District, and they played their games yesterday at DCG High School. 

Brauch teamed up with familiar faces Macy Comito, Jayla Williams, Ainsley Kiene, and more on the SW district team at the Pizza Ranch All-Star Series. Brad Baulder from ACGC was the head coach for the team.

Leah showed out for DCG, scoring 11 points on three three-point baskets, and you can include two free throws into the final tally as well. In a quick two-game tournament, Bracuh’s SW District team fell in the first contest, then everyone took a break for lunch and had time to talk, laugh, and build camaraderie. After the eats, the always-popular three-point contest was held in the Meadows Main Gym. Sydney Huber of Mt. Vernon was victorious in that event. Finally, the last game. Brauch and her team played well, winning the consolation match against the Southeast district team.

In a day made to celebrate the top players in the sport across the state of Iowa, Brauch was thrilled to participate and represent Dallas Center-Grimes.
