April is almost here, but the Perry Police Department recently took a look back at last year.
Police Chief Jim Archer shared statistics from 2025 during the March 17 Perry City Council meeting. He says the department received 8,296 calls for service.
Archer details that while arrests were up from 421 to 518, accidents were down from 144 to 126. From 1,851 traffic stops, the department issued 792 citations. The department also gave out 280 parking tickets, up from 114 the previous year. Archer explains that number likely increased because 2025 saw more snow, which led to additional parking tickets being issued.
He also shared a number of projects the department completed in 2025 with the council. Some of those included a drone program, updating Motorola mobile and body cameras, purchasing new police officer badges and adding a new metal sign on the front of the Perry Police Department building.
