The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Soccer Team is in the midst of hosting a home tournament, as the Tigers defeated Dowling Catholic Friday night 1-0.

ADM came into Friday’s match with a 2-2-1 record, while Dowling Catholic was 2-2 on the season. Much of the first half was scoreless, as both teams were trying to find their rhythm, but close to 19 minutes into the contest, the Tigers had the ball in Maroons territory and eventually ended up in the area of ADM senior Haley James, who pushed it with her left foot 20 feet outside of the net to get it past Dowling Catholic senior goalie Itzel Aguilar-Jaime for the 1-0 advantage.

That score would hold at the break, and then 40 seconds into the second half, the game was put on a 30-minute lightning delay. The contest would continue after all safety protocols were met, and the Tigers were able to prevent the Maroons from ever scoring, giving them a 1-0 victory.

With the win, ADM improves to 3-2-1, while Dowling Catholic falls to 2-3 on the year. The Tigers will continue with the ADM Soccer Showcase today, taking on Van Meter at noon from Tiger Stadium in Adel.
