Both Mustangs soccer teams were in action for Friday night lights, and both DCG teams pitched shutouts in their respective contests.

The girls hit the road to Omaha, Nebraska, for the first of two weekend games the Mustangs will play out west. They started the festivities on the right foot with one goal in the first half against the Omaha Mercy Monarchs. In the second 45 minutes, DCG added two more tallies to take the game 3-0. The team will stay in Omaha overnight before another match later today.

The boys were at home against a familiar non-conference opponent in ADM High School. Almin Islamovic, Colin Mandernach, and Landon Anderson are the captains of this year’s team, and all three chipped in on the goal-scoring. It was two goals, one each from Anderson and Mandernach, before the half. In the second, the Mustangs took the lid off with two more goals from the two previous goal scorers, then a marker from Islamovic to make it a 5-0 thrashing of the Tigers.

With the wins, the girls go to 3-1 while the boys rise to 5-1.
