Dallas Center-Grimes soccer was in a jam-packed Saturday of games, with the boys taking part in the Wahawk Invite, and the girls had a game at the home of the Creighton Bluejays.

Mustangs girls’ soccer spent the night in Omaha after beating the Monarchs on Friday, then got ready for a noon kickoff against the Omaha Skutt Catholic Skyhawks. The two did battle at Creighton’s soccer stadium for an annual event called “Kicks for a Cure”. DCG was in a tight-knit contest throughout but did find twine for their only goal in a 1-0 victory.

The boys played two games as part of the Wahawk Invitational on Saturday afternoon. They faced off against Cedar Falls in the first and Waterloo West in game two. The Mustangs throttled the Tigers in game one with five first-half goals on their way to a 5-0 win. In the second game against the hosting Wahawks, it was hotly contested as both teams were feeling fatigue. DCG grinded it out with one goal in each half to earn a 2-0 win.

The girls go to 4-1 while the boys go to 7-1. The girls have shut out opponents in four straight games, while the boys have only given up one goal in their last five.
