One local company in Jefferson is vying for the top spot in a public voting platform that is hosted by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.

According to the IABI, American Athletic Incorporated and Spalding are currently in the top 16 of the Coolest Things Made in America contest for its Spalding Arena Renegade Basketball Hoop. The company says that AAI/Spalding is under the Fruit of the Loom brand, which is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. AAI/Spalding says these basketball hoops are the official backstop of the NCAA and professional basketball leagues, including the NBA and WNBA. 

The business points out that these hoops were featured during the recently held Final Four of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament.

IABI says today is the final day of voting, where anyone can cast one vote per device until midnight tonight. Voting will remain for the subsequent rounds until the winner is announced on June 3rd at the IABI Taking Care of Business Conference in Des Moines. Click here to cast your vote.
