The Perry Iowa Historical Society will host a fundraiser along with a monthly program next week.

The organization will serve a pork tenderloin dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at the Perry Elks Lodge, 2823 Willis Avenue.

The meal costs $15 and includes a pork tenderloin, French fries and dessert. Community members can grab a meal to go or can enjoy it in person. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to support local history and community efforts.

The historical society is also asking for donations of baked goods from the community. Those interested in donating bars, brownies or cookies can send a message to the organization through the Perry Iowa Historical Society Facebook page and can drop those off from 4:40-5 p.m. on May 1.

The group then invites residents to enjoy its next monthly program on Sunday, May 3. Attendees will discover the rich and delicious history of Perry’s popcorn stands through the years, featuring stories, photos and local nostalgia.

The program will be held at 2 p.m. on May 3 at the Perry Elks Lodge, with the group’s monthly meeting to follow.
