Several athletes from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track and Field Teams attended the 2026 Drake Relays in Des Moines this past weekend, as the Tigers had great performances in a competitive field.
The action began Friday for ADM, as senior Elise Coghlan captured a third place finish in the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.45 seconds. She was a very busy individual, running 1:05.49 in the 400 Meter Hurdles for 13th place, was apart of the Girls Shuttle Hurdle Relays that marked fourth at 1:03.18, and was the lead off runner in the 4×400 Meter Relay Team that notched eighth going 4:08.04.
Aside from that, Tiger senior Lauren Hagedorn finished 12th in the Girls Discus Throw with a distance of 129 feet and three inches, while ADM’s Girls 4×100 Meter Relay garnered fourth at 48.04 seconds with Haley Nelson, Isabelle Book, Brecken Morse, and Peyton Standley.
On the boys side, the Tigers had sophomore Zane Johnson secure 17th place overall in the 100 Meter Dash at 10.91 seconds, as he was involved in the 4×200 Meter Relays with Parker Hook, Hudson Shull, and Jackson Pitzen that tallied eighth. The Tigers’ 1600 Meter Medley Relay of Pitzen, Christian Paul, Brayden Davison, and Ty Landphair got 19th with a blazing time of 3:36.74, which sits fourth in ADM’s school history.
Also, a few former Tiger athletes competed at their respective colleges, including Geneva Timmerman, who attends the University of South Dakota, and ran a 4:36.25 1500 Meter in the Women’s Division. The other was Josi Dufoe, who goes to Drake University in Des Moines, and ran the second leg on the Women’s Sprint Medley Relay in a total time of 4:18.21.
