The Dallas County Soil and Water Conservation District invites local youth to participate in a poster contest, though the deadline is fast approaching.
Conservation Districts of Iowa partners with the National Association of Conservation Districts and local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) to offer the 2026 Conservation Poster Contest.
The Dallas County SWCD says the contest is open to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Iowa, whether enrolled in public, private or homeschool. This year’s theme is “Soil. Where It All Begins.”
The submissions are due by May 1. Any mixed media is allowed. Digital posters must be original art and can’t include any copyrighted, trademarked or branded images or phrases.
The posters will be evaluated by 50% Conservation Message, 30% Visual Effectiveness, 10% Originality and 10% Universal Appeal.
The local soil and water conservation district details that each Dallas County winner will receive $25.
