An annual fundraiser for a non-profit organization in Jefferson will help to keep beautifying the area.

Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County member Alexis Stevens says the Plant Sale is happening tomorrow from 3-6pm and Saturday from 10am-1pm. She shares that there will be 12-inch baskets and planters ready for people to purchase with geraniums, petunias, verbena and other colorful flowers that are hardy enough that require little work other than watering them regularly.

Stevens points out that the plants are ready to go when people purchase them where they can simply hang the baskets where they want them or easily remove the plants and use them for a pot display. She notes that all plants are $25 each and were grown from plugs in the greenhouse that the organization has.

Stevens adds that the proceeds from their main fundraiser will be used to continue to operate and maintain the gardens, as well as buy new plants. She advises that their Board is seeking additional members to join as well. Anyone interested can contact her or any of the board members, as well as the Welcome Center at 515-386-2155.
