Tomorrow is known as Bike to School Day and Greene County Elementary is once again going to participate.

Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says the elementary school students, along with their families and anyone else who would like to join, are going to be at the south Hy-Vee parking lot tomorrow morning and will head to school between 7:45-7:50am. Additionally, Clouse points out that new this year will be people that can also walk to the elementary school. The respective routes can be found below.

Clouse explains that the police department provides a patrol vehicle to be an escort to lead the children along the path to the Raccoon River Valley Trail, on their way to the elementary school. He stresses patience and awareness for other motorists while this event is going on tomorrow morning.

“There will be a lot of bicycles, they have great participation for this event, and the kids are just wand for sound and enjoy this so much. We’ll make it safe for them, we’ll keep our eyes out when we’re driving around and be aware that’s coming up.”

No pre-registration is required and the public is welcome to join.
