St. Patrick School is highlighting its teachers this week.

National Teacher Appreciation Week runs through Friday and Principal Kandice Pattillo says it’s a good time to recognize the school’s staff.

“There’s so much that teachers do that goes beyond just the education that they offer and the training and teaching the kids every single day. We pride ourselves on the relationships that teachers build and we spend more time at times with the kids than some parents do during the day as they’re with us for almost eight hours. Our teachers pour their heart and souls into kids and they want to see them grow.”

While Pattillo is glad teachers get their own week, she adds that they should be celebrated all year long.
