The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls and Boys Soccer Teams were successful in defeating Carlisle on Friday, as the boys won 4-1 in Adel, and the girls marked a 4-0 shutout in Carlisle.

In the boys contest, Tiger senior Cael Orban opened the scoring 19 minutes into the game with his first goal, followed by senior Mohammad Hajeh that came through with the second goal 15 minutes later as ADM took a 2-0 advantage into the break. However, the Wildcats were able to get one goal back in the second half, as senior Kael Streeter connected on a close shot to bring the deficit to 2-1.

The Tigers did respond with two more goals from seniors James Finnegan and Wyatt Forret to reign victorious with a final score of 4-1. The win puts ADM at 5-7-3 on the season, as Carlisle drops to 3-10-1.

On the girls’ side, the Tigers continued to play well, as they were able to notch a single goal in the first half on the road in Carlisle to lead 1-0 at the break. ADM tallied three more goals in the second half to roll on to a 4-0 shutout victory. The Tigers now have nine shutouts on the year and are sitting at 11-3-1 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 2-7-2 overall.

Carlisle will travel to Winterset on Monday, as ADM’s Boys will prepare for their Class 3A Substate 2 Semifinal game versus North Polk on May 27th, and the girls will host Norwalk on Tuesday.
