A fourth place finish for the Greene County High School girls’ golf team put an end to a very successful 2026 season. Coach Heath Telleen’s Rams were fourth among eight teams in a Class 2A Regional 1B on Friday at the Ida Grove Golf Course. Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) won the tournament with 371 strokes for 18 holes with MVAOCOU (Maple Valley) second at 394. Those two advance to the Regional final next week.
Placing third was Ridge View (Holstein) at 425 with the Rams at 427, Cherokee, Washington shot 435, East Sac County (Lake View) 436, OABCIG (Ida Grove) 438, and South Central Calhoun did not have enough golfers for a team score.
Greene County’s Taylor Johnston was seventh individually at 99 with Maya Telleen 106, Lila Osters0n 110, and Alivia Cornell 112. All four are seniors.
The coach said the girls had a great season and he appreciates their effort this season. “We will miss our seniors next season. They have been great leaders on and off the course.”
