A prominent figure in the Stuart community suddenly lost his home.
According to Cailee Corbin, Stuart Fire Chief Stephen Martinson and his family lost their home when it was struck by lightning, causing damage on Friday. She notes that Stephen, his wife and their three children got out safely. Corbin states that Martinsons are displaced as they begin the process of assessing the damage and taking next steps.
She has set up a gofundme account to raise money to help the Martinsons at this time. Corbin points out that the money raised will be used to replace smoke-damaged items and to cover the cost of being displaced while repairs are being made. Click here to contribute to the gofundme account.
