The leader of the West Central Valley Boys Soccer Team highlights the great play of the Wildcats that culminated in a 12-win regular season.

West Central Valley Head Coach Matthew Smith says that the year has been fun as almost every guy who has played has been able to score at least one goal. Four Wildcats have double digit goals, including junior Garret Wolfe and senior Aiden Brandon with 11, senior Gabe Gerling has 12, and senior Trajan Rummel leads with 13 goals. Smith emphasizes that the players are trusting each other.

“No one is selfish. They’ve been playing soccer for a long time, a lot of these guys, ever since they were really young. They’ve just built chemistry over and our midfield and forwards have really relied on each other to do each other’s stuff, and that’s why we have multiple people scoring goals for us.”

West Central Valley Boys Soccer concluded the regular season with a record of 12-1-1 and will host Hillcrest Academy for the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 1A Region 6 Semifinal game in Stuart this coming Wednesday, May 27th at 7pm.
