Lead by juniors Brianna Mueller and Molly Jacobson for the second consecutive night, the ADM girls basketball Tigers improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 55-42 win at Van Meter Tuesday night.

Mueller scored a team-high 18 points while Jacobson, the hero of Monday’s season-opening win over Norwalk, scored 15. Sophomore Sydney Bertman rounded out the trio of double-figure scorers for the Tigers with 12 points.

ADM head coach Corey Schneider said his team rushed things in the first half and struggled mightily with help-side defense. But the Tigers shored up both things in the second half, and pulled away in the fourth quarter, when they outscored the Bulldogs 13-6.

Van Meter sophomore Mackenzie Roberts torched ADM with a game-high 27 points, but the Tigers held her to just two points in the fourth quarter.

ADM will next play at 6 p.m. on Tuesday as part of a boys-girls double header at Pella Christian.
