Another Greene County marketing plan meeting is planned for next week.
At their previous meeting in November, economic development director Ken Paxton says the steering committee selected Blue Space as their ad agency to help them develop a county-wide marketing plan.
The goal is to create information that targets people between the ages of 50-65 who like to travel and learn about historical information.
He points out the main reason why they started a steering committee to try and attract more tourism to the county.
“The key need why I thought now is the time to do the county-wide marketing plan because we really didn’t have a place for them to stay. Super 8 (Motel) is okay, but it really wasn’t a selling point. Now, with the casino to attract overnight tourism, we now actually have a place for people to stay when they are in our community.”
The meeting will be at 7pm on Tuesday, December 9th at the lower-level of the Sierra Community Theatre. At that meeting, Paxton notes that they will discuss with Blue Space representatives on what projects they want to continue to finish their marketing plan.
The meeting is open to the public.
