Last week we told you about a vintage train ride that the Menlo and Casey fire departments have begun to sell tickets for, and that will take place in June of 2015. The Menlo Fire Department says support from the community in fundraisers like these is absolutely necessary, because when you add up the cost of breathing apparatus, helmets, coats pants and other gear, each firefighter can easily be outfitted by over $8,000 worth of equipment. Multiply that by fifteen firefighters on the squad, and you’re at $120,000. Tickets for the June 6th train ride are on sale now and cost fourteen dollars for adults, and seven dollars for kids 12 and under.
