Guthrie Co. Iowa DeputyIt’s never easy to say goodbye to someone that plays an integral role in how something operates.

Be it a family, an organization, a business–when somebody at the fabric of those entities passes on, it is hard to replace them.

Such is what the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office is going through right now as it tries to continue on following the passing of veteran dispatcher Darci Sloss Fuller.

We heard from Sheriff Marty Arganbright yesterday on Let’s Talk Guthrie County as he gave area residents an idea of just how valuable Darci was to the Guthrie County community.  Today, Arganbright discusses what types of tributes have been paid to his former dispatcher in the days since her death.

“I know the softball team here in Guthrie Center has made some headbands and they’ve been (wearing) those.  Our department has ordered some wristbands with her name on it and we haven’t received those yet but we’ll be making them available (to the public).”

Arganbright and other Sheriff’s Department staff have also been wearing black bands across their badges to honor Fuller.

Aside from just the tributes, the Sheriff’s Department has also set up the Darci Sloss Fuller Memorial Fund.  Arganbright explains…

“We did get ahold of the Guthrie County State Bank and there is a fund set aside for Darci that can be used for the family.  We’d appreciate it if people would donate to that fund–the family will need it.  She deserves anything she can get for what she’s done for the county.”

For any area residents interested in picking up some wristbands honoring Fuller, call the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office at 641-747-2214. Arganbright says he hopes to have the wristbands by early next week.
