We are now just one month away from the 38th annual Bike Ride to Rippey and registration for the original winter ride is now open.
The 24 mile round trip event happens the first Saturday of February each year, regardless of the weather. It’s hosted by the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce but as executive director Bob Wilson explains, it’s really an event that helps support several businesses and organizations in the two communities.
“This is the Chamber’s largest fundraiser, but what we’ve done with this fundraiser is make sure we feed everyone if possible. There’s a lot of civic organizations, the Lions Club the Knights of Columbus, the local women’s sorority group helps us out, the Methodist Church in Rippey, the Rippey Lions Club, La Poste and then of course we promote the entire town. So when we bring these visitors to town we try to make sure they realize all the great amenities we do have from restaurants to shops and everything in between” says Wilson.
Registration fees are $25 in advance, which includes a long sleeved t-shirt, collectable lapel pin, hot chocolate stop along with way, a one day pass to the McCreary Community Building, SAG wagon and entrance in to drawings for Perry Bucks. and more.
