The 2014/2015 deer hunting season ended for good in Iowa four days ago, and with the final numbers tallied, the DNR reports that 101,552 deer were taken State-wide, or just over 1.8 deer taken per square mile of land. In Guthrie County, the number of deer taken was 1,893, nearly twice the county average, and an impressive ratio of over 3.2 deer taken per square mile of land.
