For the third straight week the Greene County Rams high school football team is playing in a homecoming game. The Rams defeated Red Oak in Jefferson on Sept. 14 in the homecoming game for Greene County by a 28-0 score for the only win of the season to this point. Greene County lost on Sept. 21 in Carroll by a 51-0 count to Kuemper Catholic in the Knights’ homecoming game and tonight (Fri.) they take on Roland-Story in Story City in the homecoming game for the Norsemen.

Both GC and R-S enter tonight’s game with 1-4 records. The Rams are assigned to Class 2A District 8 while R-S is in 2A District 7. The winner of the non-district contest will have some momentum as they return to district play next week. The Rams are playing away from home for the fourth time in six games. Greene County will return to Linduska Field to host Clarinda High School on Oct. 5.

A freshmen game starts at 4:30 p.m. today between the Norsemen and the 5-0 Greene County ninth graders. Coverage of the varsity contest begins at 6 p.m. on KGRA 98.9 FM with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
