A group of local trail advocates have come together in an effort to make sure visitors know their way around town.

Bob Wilson with the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce says they’re selling t-shirts to raise money for signage throughout Perry.

“Signs are very expensive but what we hear as a negative is that people can’t find their way through town, and when they do come into town they can’t find the amenities that we do have.  To me that is a huge problem for a chamber.  I mean, that’s our goal is to get those people to come in to town and experience our businesses, put money in our local economy and continue to do so.”

Wilson says the t-shirts feature an old fashioned bicycle and say “Your Journey Starts Here” on them.

Proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go to support signage at both ends of town, along with the trailhead.

Wilson adds that the goal is to not burden either the public or private sector with the expense of the signs.

T-shirts can be purchased from the Chamber office for $15 each.
