After last Friday night’s 46-0 victory over the West Central Valley Wildcats, the Panorama Panthers really seem like they have found their stride. They are currently on a 4-game winning streak and the team is playing like they can’t be beat.
As a team, the Panthers carried the ball 43 times for 244 yards against the Wildcats, and made each yard count. Senior Tyler Hein, again lead the team with 8 carries for 72 yards. The other 172 yards were fairly evenly spread across the team. Luke Webner had 6 carries for 69 yards and 1 touchdown. Gavin Richey had 5 carries for 32 yards and 1 touchdown. Garrett Mleynek had 3 carries for 25 yards and 1 touchdown. And Chase Hennen had 3 carries for 19 yards and 1 touchdown.
It was a big receiving game as well. Mason McNeil had 2 catches for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also, Luke Webner had 1 reception for 34 yards ending with a touchdown.
And despite such a dynamite offensive performance, much of the explosiveness came on the defensive side of the ball. The Panthers held the Wildcats to only 8 passing yards and 4 rushing yards on the night.
Tyler Hein lead the team with 5 solo tackles and 6 assisted tackles. Coldy Woodvine also had 5 solo tackles and 4 sacks. Skylar Wasson had 2 solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles. Logan Hupp had 1 solo tackle, 5 assisted tackles, and 1 fumble recovery. Alex Llanes also helped out with 2 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, and 1 interception. Luke Webner had a big defensive night with 1 solo tackle, 2 assisted tackles, and 1 fumble recovery.
This Friday, the Panthers are on the road to Neola, taking on the 5-2 Tri-Center Trojans, in what should be a very evenly-matched game. It will definitely be interesting to see if the Panthers can keep their winning streak alive.
