This weekend, Dallas County Hospital will host their first Live Healthy Iowa 5K walk and run.

It’s the second annual event for Live Healthy Iowa, which is partnering to support events all over the state Saturday, but the first time our local hospital is hosting one.

The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce is helping with promotion of the event and Executive Director Bob Wilson says it’s a win-win for all involved.

“It’s just a good way to promote health and wellness, and I love that the hospital is focusing on this.  What happens here is some of the proceeds will go back into the hospital to help with initiatives to continue with programs like this.”

The rest of the proceeds will go to support Adaptive Sports Iowa.

The Perry event takes place Saturday starting with registration at 8am.  There is both a 5K route for adults and a 1K for kids.

On-site entry is $25 and children can participate for $5.
