hiawatha classicThe 18th annual Hiawatha Classic takes off from the Caboose Park in Perry Saturday.

It’s a springtime tradition that continues to raise money for the development of trails in Perry, Bouton and Woodward.

Organizer Mary Laborde says putting on this ride is something she has become very passionate about and it’s a unique event that works for riders of all ages and experience levels.

“It really appeals to families who don’t want their young children or teenagers out on the pavements or highways.  It’s all on the trail, so it makes it so you can choose those different distances and you’re not just out there in the middle of nowhere thinking ‘oh I wish I could turn around and go back.’”

Those still wanting to participate can still do so by filling out a form online by CLICKING HERE, which can be found in this story on our website. Or you can stop by the McCreary Community Building.

Registration begins at 9am Saturday and the ride will start at 10 o’clock.
