A sequel to last year’s Bacoon Ride, which took nearly 3,000 cyclists on a 71 mile loop around the Raccoon River Valley Trail, with intermittent stops to eat bacon-flavored food, is happening on June 20th. Organizer Mark Wyatt, with the Iowa Bicycle Coalition, says ‘Bacoon Ride Too’ will provide even more fun and good food than last year, while also supporting a good cause. “One of our main fundraisers this year is to pave the Guthrie County Raccoon River Valley Trail crossings.”
The ride will donate $5,000 to help pave the crossings. The route will take riders through many of the area’s small towns, including; Waukee, Adel, Redfield, Linden, Panora, Yale, Herndon, Jamaica, Dawson, Perry, Minburn and Dallas Center.
