A two vehicle accident results in possible injuries in Greene County on Monday.
Sheriff Steve Haupert says the crash happened at an uncontrolled intersection at 195th Street and P Avenue, north of Jefferson around 7:15pm.
Haupert states that 20 year-old Austin Dean Saddoris of Jefferson was heading east on 195th Street when his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was hit by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, that was heading south on P Avenue, and was driven by 33 year-old Raymond William Wampler of Scranton. Haupert notes that a passenger in the Malibu and Saddoris were transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services to be treated for possible injuries. Haupert adds that the injuries were not life-threatening injuries and everyone was wearing their seatbelts.
Both vehicles were total losses and Wampler will be issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way in an uncontrolled intersection.
Haupert cautions everyone traveling on rural roads to approach intersections slower than normal due to high corn stalks impairing a motorist’s vision and always yield to the vehicle on the right at uncontrolled intersections.
