Greene County Medical Center invites everyone to view the new 52,000-square foot expansion project this Saturday.

Guided tours will be led by the medical center’s leadership team.  Attendees will get to see the new patient rooms, the emergency department and the private pre and post surgery rooms.  Construction continues in parts of the expansion, but the public can get an idea of the complexity of the expansion.  The $22.5 million project was about 85 percent complete during this year’s Bell Tower Festival.

The expansion onto the east side of the campus will include inpatient rooms, labor and delivery rooms, a nursery, surgery, imaging, laboratory, respiratory and pharmacy services along with a more accessible emergency department.

After the expansion opens, renovations will immediately begin on the current acute and outpatient areas for an expanded West Central Orthopedics, Advanced Women’s Care, 21st Century Rehab and other spaces for speciality clinics.

The tours will be from 9am to noon on Saturday, July 11th and will last about 30 minutes.  The expansion is scheduled to be open in August.
