It’s Greene County and Atlantic in opening round play of the Class 3A District 16 baseball tournament at Merchant’s Park in Carroll on Friday, July 17. The 5 p.m. contest is the first of a doubleheader that night with game two between Carroll and Denison-Schleswig. The two winners meet at 7 p.m. on July 20 in Carroll. Teams in District 15 include Harlan, ADM, Glenwood, and Creston, with the Substate final set for Harlan on July 22 at 7 p.m.

The Rams and Trojans had nearly identical records through games of July 6 with Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams at 17-9 and Atlantic at 17-10.
