The Republican Party of Iowa will hold a special meeting to select a candidate for the Senate District 22 race.
At the Special Nominating Convention, Dallas and Polk County Central Committee members who represent precincts in district 22 will nominate a Republican candidate to face Democrat Desmond Adams in the special election December 11th.
Pat Ward of Clive won the Republican primary in June, but passed away from cancer October 15th. Iowa law states that a special election in this circumstance must be scheduled within 90 days of the general election.
The nominating convention takes place Thursday November 8th at 7pm at the Republican Party of Iowa Headquarters in Des Moines.
