Several departments came together at the Perry Hy-Vee Saturday for the first Public Safety Day event.
The public was able to come see and touch equipment brought in from the Perry Police Department, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Perry Public Works, Dallas County Emergency Medical Services, Blank Children’s Hospital, Monsanto and Iowa Methodist Life Flight.
Dozens of families spent a portion of their midday learning how the equipment works, meeting local personnel and finding out where their tax dollars go to support these entities.
From a helicopter fly in to a Jaws of Life demonstration, car crash simulator to signing of a snow plow blade there was something for everyone.
Organizers from each department said they were happy with the turnout and glad that the event was well received.
