The Perry high school football team opens up district play tonight, still searching for their first victory of the season. While injuries and inconsistency have plagued the Bluejays three weeks into the season, one thing has remained a constant; leadership. Despite the losses, the senior class has demonstrated high character and a great work ethic.

Head coach Jason Olejniczak described the leadership, “Its a great group of seniors, 17, which is a big class for us. Monday we were still feeling the effects of the loss, but Tuesday and Wednesday practices this week were some of the best practices we’ve had, led by those kids. They believe, and they should.”

With a fresh start tonight, Perry will turn to their senior leadership to set the tone for the rest of the season.
