Two former West Central Valley student athletes are this year’s nominees to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame tonight.
Tom Stiles is a 2008 graduate and Cody Hasty graduated in 2005.
Activities Director Tod Broman says a decade after his departure Hasty is still remembered for his prowess on the basketball court. “He was well known for his scoring in basketball. He set the all-time scoring record, scoring over 1,000 points.”
Stiles is known for his skills in baseball. “He was a four time All-Conference selection. He set records in hits, triples, stolen bases, runs scored and doubles.”
Broman says candidates are nominated by a committee of longtime coaches in the district. The induction ceremony will take place during halftime at tonight’s Homecoming football game.
