A Jefferson woman was cited in last week’s truck vs semi accident in Greene County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol crash report, 68 year-old Christina Elizabeth Henning of Jefferson was issued a citation for failure to stop within an assured clear distance. The citation is from an accident that happened at the intersection of 320th Street and Quest Avenue.
According to the report, 67 year-old Douglas Lyle Plath of Ogden was traveling north on Quest Avenue, when he signaled to make a left turn onto 320th Street. His trailer was then rear ended by a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by Henning. Airbags deployed in Henning’s vehicle and both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. Henning was extracted by Greene County Emergency Medical Services and taken to Greene County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Plath was uninjured.
Both the pickup truck and the trailer, that’s owned by Freeman Farms, were total losses.
The Greene County Sheriff’s office, Greene County EMS and Jefferson Fire Department assisted with the investigation.
