The Greene County High School National Honor Society recently held their induction ceremony for new members earlier this month.
Advisor Ruth Broman says 17 students were inducted on November 15th. The event was led by current NHS students, along with guest speaker Abby McConnell. A reception followed the ceremony with refreshments catered by Ram Restaurant.
The local NHS chapter now has 37 students and they do several community services projects and fundraisers. Some of their activities include raising money with the half court shot contest at halftime each home basketball game, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels and new this year was selling food at a home football game.
Broman notes that the first activity for the newest members will be doing various winter service projects and hosting a middle school dance at the Webb House on December 11th to raise money for Lots of Socks.
