Over the last couple weeks, City of Perry employees have walked around around 65 blocks of road in town.
Engineer Matt Ferrier says they’re analyzing the condition of existing streets in the City as a whole.
“We’re looking at which streets would be good candidates for rehabilitation using asphalt, whether that be milling and putting new down or even full depth asphalt. We’re probably looking somewhere in the range of 50 to 55 of those blocks will likely be getting reconstructed this summer. That will be a mid summer project as well.”
Fortunately, Ferrier says road closures for hot mix asphalt projects are usually only about a day or two long and in isolated four to five block areas. He says contractors also work with residents to let them get access to their property.
