The Greene County Chamber invites everyone to a couple of free events this weekend.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation will be shown at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson at noon on Saturday. Administrative Assistant Sheilah McGregor Pound says people voted for the 1989 film over the other choice A Christmas Story.

“The contest was very fun and I appreciate everybody for calling in and telling us what their favorite one is and we thank you MacDonald Insurance Agency for helping us bring it here.”

There’s no cost for admission and concessions will be available for purchase.

All area children are also invited to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at their Winter Wonderland at the Masonic Lodge on the west side of the downtown square in Jefferson. They will be there from 10am to noon this Saturday and next Saturday, December 19th. Parents can take photos of their child with Santa, receive a special treat and a free trip to the top of the Mahanay Bell Tower.

Both events are free and open to the public.
