The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office has made several recent changes to better serve area residents.
Sheriff Marty Arganbright says that Josie Cable has been hired as a part-time jailer/dispatcher. Cable also works part-time in the same position with the Audubon County Sheriff’s office.
Additionally, Deputy Blake Michelson is now the designated K9 officer and receives a pay increase with the added duties. Michelson takes over the K9 officer position from Deputy Kent Gries, who remains with the Sheriff’s office.
Plus, after an $800,000 real estate sale fell through after a Sheriff’s auction last week, Arganbright says his office is strongly considering changing policy to require bidders to have proof of purchase at the time of auction.
Also, we are nearly halfway through the 2015/16 budget cycle and Arganbright reports that his department budget is right where it should be.
