All eyes are on us today as Iowa’s first in the nation caucus takes place tonight.
All eligible voters are meet at their designated precinct at 7pm. Dallas County Democratic party Chairman Art Behn says it’s an important process for citizens to be part of.
“Everyone should be involved with choosing not only who’s the winner, but who the candidate is going to be. Not only just the ultimate winner, the president, but who is going to be your candidate who you’ll eventually be able to vote for for the position, which is obviously an extremely important thing. It’s critical that everybody votes.”
Dallas County Republican Party Chairman Tyler De Haan echoes Behn’s comments and encourages everyone to take part.
“It’s part of democracy. At the end of the day, this is where your voice is going to be heard. If you don’t show up, your voice isn’t going to be heard. So if there is a particular issue that is very important to you, this is where it all begins. I encourage every Iowan, whether you’re on the Republican side or the Democratic side, to get involved with the caucuses because if people are passionate about a particular issue, this is where you can make a lot of impact.”
